Just found out about the new version of Spotlight Search (Command+Space). You can search files, applications, music, places, and even do math (something I'm still annoyed that the iPhone won't do). It now opens up a new window in the center of the screen instead of dropping down from the menu bar.

I installed the Beta !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , so if you have any other questions please let me know.

How stable is it? Battery usage compared to Maverick?

Wait I see no battery nvm.

What specs are your machine?

Heavily considering upgrading to Yosemite on my '11 MBP, but haven't done yet because no backup. Might do it on a partition, but idk how well it'd run.

Ive been using it for a bit over a week now, I'm loving it. Everything works except Matlab and Final Cut (?) and its been pretty much bulletproof. The new look and functionality is great, can't wait for the full release or for iOS 8 to compliment it.

Does it run smoothly? If you're still using an HDD I guess my MBP (dual-core i5, 4GB RAM) could probably run it as well...

Kind of scared though; early versions of Mavericks did not run well for me.

Only thing that I notice is some lag when switching from interacting with a window'd program to the desktop.

Sounds like it'd work well, and I'm looking forward to the UI redesign. Thanks.

I think so. Something like that. Its not important to me so luckily its no big deal.

I feel like my RAM usage is even slightly better than under Mavericks but I can't really say for sure. Battery life seems maybe a bit improved as well on my 2012 cMBP.

Not sure if I could give up Command-Space as Quicksilver...

Got it installed on a 2013 retina mb 13", and I haven't noticed a decrease in batterylife.
